Unfortunately, after reviewing our newly completed pieces, we have encountered a few setbacks. We are working to correct some minor mistakes in our custom joints, and we have already re-bent some of our PVC pipe to make sure everything fits. We're on our way to our next model!

We have just completed all of the pieces of our frame! We are currently printing custom made joints which we made through CAD modeling. We're gonna see how everything fits together and adjust our plans on moving forward based on any improvements that need to be made.

The first piece of our sled is finally completed! We have finished a section of the nosepiece of our sled. To complete this we filled PVC pipe with sand, built a jig at the correct angle and shape for our nosepiece, used a heat gun on the pipe to make it more flexible, and then bent the pipe around our jig. It worked extremely well, and we are now on our way to building our sled. 

This is our nosepiece and the jig it was built around. Next up, we have to connect this to other pieces of pipe, and build off of this frame. Jake and I can't wait!

Update 
Jake and I have finished the 2nd iteration of our model. Its a CAD model of the frame of our sledge hockey sled that is full size, along with custom joints to create a interchangeable effect, so when a piece of the sled breaks you can switch it out without replacing the entire frame.

Hey everyone! Recently we were able to take a welding class at TechShop where we learned how to Mig Weld. We made a lot of progress, and are currently figuring out what materials would best fit our design of our sled, while still being durable.

Hey everyone! We are moving along in the design process of our project, and are making a lot of progress. Last week we received a quick introduction to welding from a TechShop member, and we were very pleased with our results. We are going to take a full class within the next few days, but we wanted to share our work with you.

Here is the result of our introductory session. It may look rough and like it doesn't serve a purpose and that's because it doesn't. It was just a fun and short project to attempt for practice, and we completed it fairly well. We are very excited to take the class to see what else we can accomplish.

Recently we took a Vacuum Forming class at TechShop in Pittsburgh. We had a blast and we wanted to share our experiences.

And here is our first product. We picked a pot to mold because we found it to be the object closest to the desired shape of our sled's seat.
